Via del Sanctus, 10099 San Mauro Torinese TO, Italy
Villa la Vista was designed and built in the early I8th Century by celebrated baroque architect Filippo Juvarra, shortly after he had completed the iconic Basilica di Superga, and both share the same panoramic views of Turin and the snow capped majesty of the Italian Alps. Set in private grounds at the end of a private road the Villa la Vista is only a 15 minute drive from the city while also having the privacy and tranquility of a country home. The estate comes with staff accommodation, a swimming pool and landscaped grounds. INTERIORS GROUND FLOOR The interiors of the villa have exquisite period features and are highly decorative in the baroque tradition and entering the villa is like traveling back through time. A magnificent entrance hall with double sided marble staircase and granite mosaic floors leads to the dining room on one side and two beautiful reception rooms on the other. A further reception room at the end of the hall leads to a private chapel. Decorative details include decorated coffered ceilings, marble fireplaces, original wood paneling and joinery and parquet flooring. The main reception room leads to a beautiful orangery which opens out onto the swimming pool terrace with dining area with stunning panoramic views of the Alps and the park below. A corridor from the dining room leads to the large modern kitchen and further service areas. FIRST FLOOR The sweeping staircase takes us to the first floor hallway with frescoed and stuccoed ceilings with large windows with balcony overlooking the front garden. Similar to the ground floor, the decorative detailing continues to surprise and delight. There are 3 very large bedrooms (one with private terrace), 2 smaller double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and beautiful library with views towards the Alps. SECOND FLOOR The attic floor has been recently modernized and provides a spacious living room, and two large double bedrooms both with modern bathrooms and dressing rooms. EXTERIORS The villa sits majestically within its grounds, with circular lawned garden to the front and back, swimming pool terrace to the side with a path leading to a grotto underneath. There is also a protective wooded area to the back, above which we can glimpse the Superga Basilica and a sweeping park accompanies the road down to the main gate and to the local shops and services of San Mauro as well as fast access into Turin.
